CONDITION:
All Books listed at the Archives are guaranteed "Good" or better according to our scale below. All used dust jacketed books include a Brodart (protective plastic sleeve).
Note: Not all described conditions apply to every book. A book in good condition may only have one defect that would otherwise keep it from being a classified as very good.
Mint: A book in the same condition as when it left the publisher. No marks, scratches or defects. A book in this category will apparently never have been read and will be tight and crisp, shiny and bright. Might even have that new book smell!
Fine: No noticeable defects, publishers marks, scratches, owner's marks, stamps or bookplates. The book should be similar to "very fine" but will have been read and will lack the brilliance of a "very fine" book.
Very Good: Insignificant rubbing, minor defects affecting neither usability or general appearance. Dust jacket might be price clipped.
Good: Normal shelf wear, insignificant flaws noticeable when inspected closely. Boards and binding stable; (not loose). Previous owner's name or bookplate, very lite pencil marks, corners slightly bumped.
Fair: Minor tears, soiling, hinges loose, binding shaken but intact, corners bumped, dinged and frayed, moderate penciling, some pen underlining, foxing. Kicked about like a lost dog, a reading copy. We do not list books over the internet in this category.
Poor: Large tears, missing pages, bent, folded, mutilated, swirled crayon markings, heavy penciling, heavy ink marks, heavily soiled, boards detached. Looks to have been used as a doorstop, furniture brace, or garage work tool. Good for Bantha fodder.
